Equinox Hotels Secures Second Location in Nashville Mixed-Use Development

Fitness hospitality brand partners with Four Seasons developers for 245-key hotel with 18,000 sq ft club

Equinox Hotels has landed its second location, securing a spot in Nashville's emerging luxury hospitality landscape. The fitness-focused hotel brand will anchor a new mixed-use development in the city's SoBro neighborhood, marking a significant expansion from its lone Hudson Yards flagship that opened in 2019.

The Congress Group and Taurus Investment Holdings, the development team behind Nashville's Four Seasons Hotel and Residences, are leading the Park Place project. The developers acquired the 2.1-acre site for $35 million in 2022, betting on Nashville's continued growth as a destination for luxury hospitality.

The 245-key Equinox Hotel Nashville will feature an 18,000-square-foot Equinox Club and spa, positioning fitness and wellness as central amenities rather than afterthoughts. The property will include a rooftop pool, private residential amenities, and Equinox's signature lounge concept that blends hospitality with the brand's fitness-first philosophy.

The hotel represents part of a broader luxury hotel boom in Nashville. Marriott's St. Regis brand is breaking ground this year on a hotel and residences project, while SomeraRoad's Pendry hotel and residences development in the Paseo South Gulch mixed-use project is scheduled to open in 2027.

"This will be our second property following our flagship in New York City's Hudson Yards," reflects Equinox's measured approach to hotel expansion. The brand operates more than 100 upscale fitness clubs across major US markets, Canada, and London, but has been selective about translating that concept into hospitality.

The Nashville development extends beyond the hotel. An adjacent residential tower will house 239 luxury condominiums and 480 apartments, along with 50,000 square feet of public parks and green space. The mixed-use approach mirrors successful urban development models that integrate hospitality, residential, and community spaces.

Equinox Hotels has ambitious plans for growth, targeting 33 locations globally over the next decade. The company announced plans last year to open a resort on Saudi Arabia's Gulf of Aqaba coast, signaling international expansion alongside domestic growth.

The brand's hotel concept centers on integrating its fitness club experience with luxury hospitality. Every Equinox hotel features either a flagship Equinox Club or an E by Equinox Club, with many locations also including SoulCycle studios. The spas offer treatments focused on performance optimization, sleep enhancement, and cognitive function rather than traditional relaxation services.

The Nashville project reflects the broader convergence of fitness and hospitality as wellness becomes a primary travel motivator. The development timeline hasn't been announced, but the project positions Equinox to capitalize on Nashville's transformation into a major luxury destination while expanding its footprint in high-growth markets.
