Another Monday, another straightforward AI how-to for you to have an unfair advantage in a rapidly changing world.
This week: How to use AI note-taking software
Throughout the week you can have hours of Zoom calls.
Sure, manually taking notes can be helpful. But there’s a good chance you’ll miss key info and not remember what it was.
Luckily, there are plenty of AI note takers out there.
You can use native integrations like Zoom AI Companion. Bot-based assistants like Fireflies.ai or Granola. And for sensitive sessions you can use apps like Jamie.
Before the meeting:
Regardless of which tool you use, enable recording and transcription before the call starts. (Most have a popup when a meeting starts.)
Make sure all participants know they're being recorded (this is both a courtesy and often a legal requirement).
If your tool has an AI companion or bot, activate it at the start of the session. Not halfway through, or you'll lose the first half of the conversation.
After the meeting:
Before forwarding any summary to clients or colleagues. Go over every metric, name, and deadline against the actual transcript.
Most platforms let you click a timestamp and jump straight to that moment in the recording.
Lastly, you can share the summary directly from the platform via link or PDF.
These platforms take very little time to set up and can change how your meetings run, from start to finish
That's it for this week. See you next Monday.
